Oh
my, it's been a long time since you've heard from us. Not much
interesting goes on these days. We spend a lot of time studying French here in Albertville, France. This
week and next we are on a vacation from classes, but believe me when I
say that it is not your regular vacation. We use this time to study,
study, study, and to catch up on other household chores. Thank you for
your continued prayers for us. We are halfway through our first term. We
need your prayers that somehow our brains will retain all the
information we try to cram in them all the time.
We are pleased
with Leslie's progress in French. It's hard to tell how much she knows,
but it is apparent that she is learning. Almost everyday, she picks up a
book and begins "reading" it in French. It sounds French anyway. I hear
this is a good sign that she is picking up the sound grid. She also
knows her colors and numbers in French as well as some animals and other
phrases. AnnMarie can also count to ten in French and is absolutely adorable when she says "merci beaucoup!"
We went through three weeks of a nasty cold thing,
but we are well for now. I say for now because it's a well known fact
around these parts that colds circle again and again. I guess our
American immune systems have to be trained to live in France. We try to
keep up on our vitamins, but you know how that goes...
Can you
believe that Leslie will be 5 next week? She's in store for a special
day and a French cake! I don't know who's more excited about the cake.
